After watching "Farewell, Kuro" (a Japanese movie about a dog)last night, I realized that I should live my life to the fullest from now on. I should enjoy every moment of it to not have any regrets when I become 50.
Most of us save money (to the point of eating cheap not-so-tasty food!)so that we can enjoy life when we retire. (That's when we become 65!) But when you're that old, I don't think you would still enjoy eating ice cream or chocolate cake.
And even if you would have money to go see a movie, you'd probably think the theater is too loud for an old man like you.
When you're old, your body becomes too weak to travel...or to go the disco dancing 'til late hours...or even to try on new clothes at the shop for hours.
So what happens is that we save money so that we can enjoy the future. And when the future comes, we won't have enough energy to spend our money. (And if you happened to save a lot of money, it will end up being spent by the ones who didn't work for it when you die!)
So my advice is: "Don't be too tight on yourself. Loosen up a little!" Meaning: "When you have enough money now, buy the clothes you've always wanted to wear before you become too old to look good in it!"
